1. Applicability
These UAE-specific Terms & Conditions supplement our general Terms of Service and apply to all users accessing GatheredHQ from the United Arab Emirates, and to all Venues operating within the UAE.
2. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, specifically the federal laws and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, or at Gathered's discretion, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
3. Consumer Protection
In accordance with UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law No. 15 of 2020):
- All prices displayed include applicable VAT (5%)
- Guests have the right to accurate information about Venue services
- Misleading advertising or false claims are prohibited
- Consumers may file complaints with the Department of Economic Development
4. Data Protection
We comply with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection:
- Personal data is processed lawfully and transparently
- Data is collected for specified, legitimate purposes only
- Cross-border data transfers follow UAE data localisation requirements where applicable
- Users have the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data
5. Electronic Transactions
In accordance with UAE Federal Law No. 1 of 2006 on Electronic Commerce and Transactions, electronic signatures and records created through the Platform are legally valid and enforceable.
6. Venue Compliance
UAE Venues using GatheredHQ must:
- Hold a valid trade licence issued by the relevant authority
- Comply with food safety regulations (Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, etc.)
- Display accurate pricing including VAT
- Adhere to local labour laws for staff management features
7. Payment Terms
All payments processed through the Platform in the UAE are in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham) unless otherwise specified. Payment processing complies with Central Bank of the UAE regulations.
